Paul Ray Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 What do you mean?Read it again, more slowly.I'd like to take you up on your offer. I'd like to add your life to the collective. We are one.Resistance is futile. Prepare to be assimilated.
Son Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I feel things have changed on this board. It seems that the gap between folks who think like me and the LDS here is somewhat wider than in the past.I have noticed more far out beliefs being promoted. Am I imagining it? Where are the rationalist leaning members these days?Consider we have people on this board that believe that1. there might be something to the new age fad called "The Secret" (mind controls physical reality).2. there may really be people living on the moon (or the sun) but on the astral plane not the physical plane! (Barauk Ale)3. evolution is false (special creation and garden of eden literal) 4. atoms and molecules have little spirits in them that hold them together5. there really was a Noah's ark filled with all animal species that might have landed on a mountain in turkey.6. quantum healing7. ESP8. Astral travel !!9. OBE's are real10. quantum healing, quantum fields = spirit etc. 11. New world order conspiracy is real12. divining rods also known as dowsing rods13. Three Nephites appearing to people as hitchhikersI would literally bet my life and limb that each one of these things is bunk. How wide the divide indeed! You use the word imagination. Image-in-at-ion. Thought, seed planting, tool of creation. It is used by all, yet prove its existence, it is not tangible, nor visible to anyone but the user. If this is fuzzy, then the mind must be expanded to comprehend what is truly real, and what we think is real. The reality behind everything is vibration. Hate, love, jealousy, envy, kindness are all words that explain non-tangible powers that we use every day. It is 'scientifically' proven that if one hates habitually the cells of his body react negatively and disease finds a bed of nourishment to flourish and destroy the hater. If one has kind loving thoughts the individual is happier, healthier and approachable. The medical community has over the years seen patients that have a positive outlook heal faster, and better, than those with a negative outlook. Some even die by giving up the will to live. Prove Willing something. Difficult? Yet we all will things to be.The results of thoughts, and imagination can be observed, and charted. Some can even see and hear the pressence of these vibrations which are the reality of existence. It is not what a man has, or knows, or says he is that defines him. It is what he is that defines him. The imaginations of his spiritual mind, the thoughts he plants, the crop he reaps. THis is man's eternal legacy. What he owns, and takes with him into the everlasting. The physical world is here for learning how to handle tangible objects and how we react with others while in this plane of existence around these material things. The vibrations we put out and receive on a daily basis. We were never meant to get bogged down and distracted by the creation itself. Becoming Mammonized. Carnal, devilish. It is like continually tearing an engine apart to see how it works, rebuilding it, defining the minutia of it. And never putting it back in the car to go somewhere. A place that may give us a better understanding of what it is all about.son
amantha Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Tarski,I have to leave so I will respond to my own question as to Why you might search for truth.I don't believe there is any such thing as a search for truth without a reason or rationale. The truth may exist independently of you but you wouldn't care if you didn't believe that knowing it might be useful...and useful to what end?Happiness. What else really matters?
Tarski Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 You use the word imagination. Image-in-at-ion. Thought, seed planting, tool of creation. Son Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 What is it that is vibrating?Everything that is created. Thoughts, Matter, Emotion (energy in motion).
Tarski Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Happiness. What else really matters? Then just take Ecstacy (MDMA) .(Truth matters too).Everything that is created. Thoughts, Matter, Emotion (energy in motion).Come on now. You said things just ARE vibrations. So what is it that vibrates at bottom?
Paul Ray Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 (Truth matters too)Yes. Truth = what matters and/or what is mattered and/or what is created. What you are and will become (you as a creation) is and will be based on the truths you accept and/or have accepted and/or will accept... and any truths you don't accept will have no influence or power or energy to produce vibrations to help you become what you otherwise could have been. You said things just ARE vibrations. So what is it that vibrates at bottom? He said things vibrate... OIOW, give off vibes.I can feel what you're saying. Can you feel what I'm saying? Can you feel the truth in my words?Does what I know is truth matter to you?
Chris Smith Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Come on now. You said things just ARE vibrations. So what is it that vibrates at bottom?Strings? Branes? Jello?
Son Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Then just take Ecstacy (MDMA) .(Truth matters too).Come on now. You said things just ARE vibrations. So what is it that vibrates at bottom?THere is vibratory rate, which is different with every element. Vibration in its purest form is the love of God substance. There is no better way to put it, that I know of. Some clumsy explanations may be. It is the element of elements, the power of everything that exists. The core of a cosmic ray? The life of all things? The bond that is eternal?
emeliza Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I generally stay away from the threads that speak about most of the stuff you mentioned as either I don't care or have no opinion or just don't know anything about it (which is generally because I don't care). I feel things have changed on this board. It seems that the gap between folks who think like me and the LDS Consider we have people on this board that believe that1. there might be something to the new age fad called "The Secret" (mind controls physical reality).~Don't really have a clue about this.2. there may really be people living on the moon (or the sun) but on the astral plane not the physical plane! (Barauk Ale)~Don't personally believe this and didn't know anyone thought that way.3. evolution is false (special creation and garden of eden literal) ~Don't believe evolution is false, but do believe in the Garden of Eden---just not necessarily how the story is told nowadays4. atoms and molecules have little spirits in them that hold them together~Never heard this, sound kooky.5. there really was a Noah's ark filled with all animal species that might have landed on a mountain in turkey.~Okay so I sort of believe this, but not completely sure how literal or how complete it all was. 6. quantum healing~Um, what does that entail?7. ESP~I think some people are more apt to pick up signals from other people or feel things that we can't explain, but not sure to what degree. Like I would believe twins might realize when the other is in danger, but I don't think they can read each others minds. However either way, it still rarely interests me. I don't have ESP myself. 8. Astral travel !!~This is an odd one that comes up and I generally don't read it because it doesn't interest me. So I have no opinion.9. OBE's are real~What are OBE's?10. quantum healing, quantum fields = spirit etc. ~Um...what?11. New world order conspiracy is real~I don't generally pay attention to conspiracies, though every now and one I think one is very inventive.12. divining rods also known as dowsing rods~I don't know too much about them other than JS used one. I thought they were generally used to find water......(can you see how much interest I have in them).13. Three Nephites appearing to people as hitchhikers~Haven't a clue here. I suppose if I saw one....maybe . But in the mean time I will just think they are faith promoting rumors. I would literally bet my life and limb that each one of these things is bunk.
Jerubaal Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 What are OBE's?Also called OOBEs, they are "out of body experiences." This, along with Near Death Experiences (NDEs), are two things I am ambivalent about the authenticity of. While naturalistic explanations have been provided for them, I am uncertain if they are sufficient.
Tarski Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 THere is vibratory rate, which is different with every element. What is the vibratory rate of gold?Answer this one question and maybe we can make progress.
Paul Ray Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 What is the vibratory rate of gold?Answer this one question and maybe we can make progress.Heh, so you now want to have the Midas touch, do you? That will come after we have completed our deal, Tarski. You can't get that prize without paying the price to get it.
EVOLVING Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Tarski -- I'm with you - I have really noticed the mystical woo-woo is getting more thick than usual.now the question is why ?? left to my understanding alone I can only guess the standard LDS apologetic drum is getting boring - the tribe needs to mix it up every once in a while. You do believe in having fun, don't you?I have an extra pair of stretchy pants.
Tarski Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Heh, so you now want to have the Midas touch, do you? That will come after we have completed our deal, Tarski. You can't get that prize without paying the price to get it. You don't know as I suspected. We don't have a deal. You are not in a position to acertain and prove the truth of anything on my list. You also are not in a position to put my life in the balance. But if it were in the balance and I had to bet I would know which way to bet.
Paul Ray Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 You don't know as I suspected.Sorry, but that won't work. You don't really know what I know. And you can't (honestly) say I don't know what I know just because you don't know what I know.I can make what I know available to you, though, for a price. Are you willing to enter into negotiations? You can know what I know, but you first pay the price to know it.We don't have a deal.Yeah, I know. That's why I am trying to make a deal with you.Duh.You are not in a position to acertain and prove the truth of anything on my list.Yes, I am. And furthermore, I can prove it to you. But you must first pay the price. ... and it will do you no good to try to avoid paying the price, if you want all the prizes. You also are not in a position to put my life in the balance. You already put your life in the balance. I am simply trying to wrap up our negotiations. How much will it take for you to give up your life?I know some people who want it.But if it were in the balance and I had to bet I would know which way to bet.You have already made the bet, as far as I am concerned. We're just haggling over the price.
Tarski Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Sorry, but that won't work. You don't really know what I know. And you can't (honestly) say I don't know what I know just because you don't know what I know.Ummm, just tell me the vibratory rate of gold. If you can't then I am justified in saying you don't know.
Paul Ray Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Ummm, just tell me the vibratory rate of gold. If you can't then I am justified in saying you don't know.Heh, I said I can, but that I won't until you pay the price to know it.Have I told you that you are funny?I'll bet you also look good in stretchy pants. What size do you wear, and what is your favorite color?
Tarski Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Heh, I said I can, but that I won't until you pay the price to know it.Isn't BS-ing a sin?
Paul Ray Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Isn't BS-ing a sin?Are you now trying to up the price again, again? Why should I tell you anything that I know, when you haven't paid the price to know it ???And btw, this is not BS:I can know everything that God knows, and I know that God knows everything.
Tarski Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Are you now trying to up the price again, again? Why should I tell you anything that I know, when you haven't paid the price to know it ???Why should I have to pay when I already know how to answer. It is you who claim to know the rate and then immediately refuse to give the rate. And btw, this is not BS. Yes it is and you know it and so does essentially everyone reading this (they just don't want to bother with it). PS, are you and "Son" one and the same person?
Tarski Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Do you believe in sin?I believe that some things are wrong (such as BS-ing people). So, ummm,.... , do you thing that "Paul Ray" or "Son" know the vibratory rate of gold?
Paul Ray Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I believe that some things are wrong (such as BS-ing people). So, ummm,.... , do you thing that "Paul Ray" or "Son" know the vibratory rate of gold?Strawman.I think you should pay more attention to the actual words people use when they say things.... and then possibly ask them what they mean when they say what they say.I'd hate to see your life go to another bidder just because of a simple misunderstanding.
