Why would the Lord’s house — a temple being rebuilt from the foundation up to withstand earthquakes “into the Millennium” — suddenly be covered in the very same sacred metal that appears over and over again throughout scripture, temple worship, and even the story of the plates of the Book of Mormon? Tonight we follow a pattern that stretches from the Tabernacle of Moses… to Solomon’s Temple… to Isaiah’s millennial prophecies… all the way to the ongoing renovation happening RIGHT NOW before our eyes. Even the Angel Moroni atop the Salt Lake Temple — the one whose trumpet fell during the 2020 earthquake — is made of hammered copper covered in gold leaf. And now the roof beneath him is copper too. That means the same sacred material now stretches from the roofline to the angel on the spire. Coincidence? Or pattern?
