ghostlybo0o Posted June 10, 2025 Posted June 10, 2025 Hello my brethren, I am concerned about my brother. He got married young and he's a model. His wife really drives him in the industry but he's tired of it and wants to settle down and stop the modeling grind. It's really getting bad and I feel that God has given him a mind that can do anything. He doesn't need to rely on his looks although he will always be able to. I feel he should go to church leaders and map out a plan to take control of his life and family. God made him to be happy and follow the path of righteousness. The modeling industry comes with so much ugliness and temptation, it has worn him out over the years. I hope he finishes his current contracts this summer and walks strong and in a year he can make any plan he wants to. Or maybe he can do modeling but the way HE wants to. It will be up to him but I pray he knows our whole family will always support him and be there for him. He always has a humble and happy home with us.
Popular Post Calm Posted June 10, 2025 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2025 Am curious why you think he needs to go to church leaders to map out a plan? I would suggest an employment specialist if he is interested in changing careers. 7
rpn Posted June 10, 2025 Posted June 10, 2025 By all means suggest he talk with your community resources for changing jobs, and the Elder's Quorum Presidency about having some of the lesson in the manual for provident leaders and to announce he's looking for work. But church leaders acting as church leaders don't help people get jobs. Ministering people sometimes can. Most communities have people who help people get jobs. He's likely to need training as he moves into a new job too. In the US depending on his age, he might look for the agency in his state that administers WOIA law. 1
Calm Posted June 10, 2025 Posted June 10, 2025 If he wants to be self employed or to have a side hustle that might develop into a full time business, he might look into taking entrepreneurship classes at the local college/university. Full disclosure: my husband taught such classes for 45 years at 3 universities, so I have seen very positive outcomes with such, but self employment is not for everyone. Some just did it to get through college with less debt, a number were older students looking to get a better or more flexible work situation. 2
