I'm not even LDS, but if I were the bishop of your ward, I think I would wonder what you were doing there. Are you there to learn? It sounds like you've been there long enough to learn any unique features of LDS meetings.

 

Are you there to worship and minister? Why would you do that in a group you have no intention of joining?

 

What prevents you from joining?

If you don't, I think you're basically carrying around an invisible sign that says, "This is not the true church."

What do I say about myself? I say you know nothing about my wife or me. I say my wife and I are believers in Christ who are looking for a place to worship, fellowship, and minister with fellow Christians in a setting that my wife can understand in a small village in the midst of the Chihuahuan desert four hours from another English speaking church. We are here for a while.

My wife and I went to a local restaurant this very morning. By happenstance, we crossed paths with a wonderful member of "our" ward. We hugged, cried, and shared how much we miss each other. When you know what that is like, then you can criticize and question us. Until then leave that to those here who have known me for six years.

Similarly, can you, just by walking out on deck without any equipment, say where the air mass that's moving over the vessel will be 24-hours later?

 

What I think Jesus is getting at is that we can't always predict the actions of the Spirit. Are these the actions we expect today of someone upon whom the spirit of the Lord has come?

The Ancients had ways to tell the weather. I imagine the Phoenicians and other early sea people had their ways to tell when a low pressure was moving in. If you put your back to the wind and put your left arm out at a right angle that is the location of the low pressure. Where I live if the wind is out of the South or the southeast it's going to rain.

What judgment did I render? I basically asked questions. Do you not want me to ask you questions? How will we have a conversation?

 

What prevents you from being baptized there? Do you have a testimony that the church is true?

What do you understand Jesus is getting at here?
