Have decided to quit masturbation and go nofap + working out + eating healthy + read more scriptures

I am 17, half-Mexican, and have autism, I detoxified from pornography for two months and now respect both women and men of all different backgrounds way more than I did before and realized that masturbation was just a scam and that I have been working out for 2 months, working out and eating healthy, it gave me more control over my testosterone and less sexual thoughts and treating people better equally, but now I want to quit masturbation and start a nofap streak as an experiment to see if anything changes, I think I will see change but first I want to see if I can truly have control over my body with no masturbation, I want to get closer to my culture and religion by not masturbating and working out, eating healthy, and learning Spanish, I have already went to Spanish school in Mexico, I hope I can succeed, wish me luck with my new streak that can hopefully get me more lifting, I also want to go to my Church more and read more scriptures.

I have already seen results by being more religious and deciding to quit masturbation, my crush has seen me more often show at school and I’m starting to realize I have the control.

¡I will experiment to see if reading more scriptures and quitting more masturbation can help me become more religious and have the control to quit, wish me luck on my new nofap streak, and me going to Guatemala this summer with my crush from school hopefully to learn more Spanish!

Just an FYI, instead of starting new threads, you should use the ones you have already created unless the topic is quite different.  One of the things that can get posters banned is starting too many new threads as that pushes others’ threads off the front page and most people assume that means the threads are long dead….and they may not be and posts meant to be answered and engaged are not responded to…which leads to frustration and possible reports to moderators.

Plus it is hard to tell if you have read people’s responses if you start a new thread rather than post after reading responses on your original threads and that may lead to people ignoring your threads because it seems you ignore them first.  :)

I am glad to see you feel more in control of yourself.  That is always a good feeling in my experience.

Good luck friend!

My advice as a recovering addict is to be patient with yourself.  Don't beat yourself up over relapses.  Overcoming these things is a progressive process that absolutely will include relapses.  Look at them as learning experiences.  Self compassion is key to success.  If these are at the addiction level, make recovery your goal rather than sobriety.  There is an important difference.  These behaviors are often unhealthy coping mechanisms, so make it is less about self control and more about healing core issues that are driving these unhealthy coping mechanism.  Find healthy coping mechanisms to replace them or you will be hard pressed to find long-term recovery.  You can't just stop what you are doing by white-knuckling it.  Don't just run away from these behaviors, you have to run towards new ones.  It works better that way.

You could always get a big poster of Jesus and tape it to the ceiling directly over your bed, that way it makes it harder to do the deed. I'm sure it's quite difficult to do the deed when Jesus is actually staring at you.
