Father's day thoughts

Happy ME day!  A generous heap of Day o' Dad wishes to anyone who wants them.

Having to be a father for one day a year is hard but I push thru it.

I'm doing the reflection thing and am taking comfort that all my sons are, with a high degree of probability, my offspring. On a sad note, I'm also the spawn of my mother's husband but I came along too late to do anything about that.

Next - a quick shout out to the Church. Sometimes I feel unsure about what kind of dad I am but because of our Family History mandate, I can compare myself with my kin and know that I improved on our fatherhoodiness[1]. Probably. Eventually.

I attached proof.

Last - In my old ward, mother's day was about how awesome all the mothers are and father's day was lessons on how to stop being a crappy dad. I don't know what my new ward holds but I look forward to Sunday with my usual FD enthusiasm.

I hope your FD is at least as good.

Happy Father's Day, and hope your new ward will pour all the praise on and leave out the guilt that we mom's feel daily.

Yes. Second husband of a widow on my mom's side. He and his first wife had lost 2 children the year before. I imagine some of this was born from that.

Mother's Day affirmations are a good+necessary thing.  Dads need positive feedback too - because we come up with interesting notions and they all look good at the start.

Today's talks were more uplifting than instructive. Glad for that. Sunday school was the scheduled lesson.
