Bill “Papa” Lee Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 I have been helping out my neighbors with some technical (electrical things), as much as my back will allow. Their son, is just fascinated, always asking questions. He is only 7 years old, and having 9 grandchildren, I use my Papa voice. The other day while saying goodbye, I was using that voice, then when I told him to get clear of my truck, I used my normal voice. His Mother, said “Bill, your deep voice” just scared him out of his skin, as well as me”. Also when my grandchildren do something they are not supposed too, while staying over, I speak in my normal voice. Which causes their Nanny to get on to me, saying; why are you talking to them that way? My reply is, I was just speaking in my normal voice, she then replies, “then don’t”! It is hard to keep up with the loving Papa voice, when cutting up, and the voice I use when I am being serious. I find the same problem speaking in Church. I guess I use my cop voice without knowing.
