I'm fascinated with the Cold War era and with that part of the world, so the Wall's existence alone would make reading a detailed account of your mission worth it to me ... So the heck what if you weren't a baptizing machine?! I stayed in Berlin for a bit a few years ago, and the place I stayed was just down the street from the Brandenburg Gate. I went through it almost daily, through the old check point. It became part of my mental "neighborhood", and now whenever I see it, it feels like someone is showing a picture of something a block away from my house. It is a very odd feeling to feel so close to something so famous to have been a part of my daily life! I also lived on Washington Square in NYC for a few years, and every time I see that- or anything near it, like the Flatiron building etc, it feels the same. Very weird. And then Angela Davis was one of my professors. She is becoming super-famous now with the Black Lives Matter movement. I was a very small part of the "Philosophy Action Committee" that pushed the UCLA faculty to hire her. I think I am becoming Forrest Gump. Wait a minute! I already am! 1
