Non-Religious Population, Will it Increase or Decrease in the Future?

Yes, it is.  And so was the legitimate reaction to the Communist Manifesto of Marx & Engels.  So was the legitimate reaction to the rise of Chancellor Hitler and the rearming of Germany.  That we have both left and right agreeing now on the death of Europe should at least raise an eyebrow.  It has come to the point now that World War II and the Holocaust cannot be taught in many public schools in Europe.

We do not have such an agreement though.

The bit about the Holocaust not being taught in many parts of Europe is also hysterical exaggeration and largely untrue.

What happened was the secularization of the West.  Europe is farther along in that process than the USA, but the results are going to be the same.  Huge demographic shifts are already apparent in Europe, where the native population is simply dying off and being replaced by immigrants who are not adopting European culture.  This is not the first time that such momentous demographic shifts have taken place, but it will alter the nature of modern civilization as we know it.

And Americans have been told that immigrants are coming in and not becoming American since the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798. Is anyone still worried about all those Irish and Germans who were not Americanizing and integrating fast enough? No? But these latest groups of immigrants.........they will definitely never integrate. And the latest Chicken Littles are still at it.

And no, it is not going to alter the nature of modern civilization as we know it. Other forces have that potential and some are almost certain to.

No, it's not. Cuz there ain't no mask.

You're clearly caught up in the throes of political correctness.  One may not criticize that which is a sacred cow.  I say, screw it.  Islam is a wonderful religion that has its faults, but I have no interest in pretending that it doesn't have faults.  It's like loving Catholicism and ignoring pederast priests.  Catholicism is fantastic, and I respect the dedication that its clergy demonstrate.  But there's problems in there, too, and must be acknowledged.  The guy on London Bridge the other day with Allahu Ackbar and stab stab, murder murder?  Got shot in the head for his trouble -- because he was wearing a suicide vest that the police didn't want him to detonate and a headshot prevented this.  Turns out that it was a fake suicide vest! Jokes on you, police!

I love human beings -- all children of God.

Well, at least we can rest assured that no one of any consequence is attributing climate change happening now to the eventual transformation of the sun into a red giant.

Funny thing about that -- when it does turn into a red giant, the climate will definitely have changed!

Climate change deniers are probably caricaturing the belief but they are just spewing uninformed propaganda so we should probably just mock them.

Only idiots claim the climate isn't changing.  The climate has been changing since the sun initiated its fusion processes.  It will continue to change until the sun turns into a burnt out cinder.  We contribute to this process in minor ways, just by existing.  We can probably tweak things by behavior changes, too.  Problem is, we can't tweak things enough to make enough of a difference to stop climate change.  In my humble opinion.  And it's the Greta Thunbergs of the world who are trying to run virtual multi-level marketing schemes to get people to do things that will absolutely have no effect.  But if it helps her buy a boat, what's not to like?

The topic is not climate change.

Do not be disingenuous. The idea that Muslims are taking over Europe is fear mongering. One of the sources you cited is a fact check of those demographic claims and their comment is that they are guessing the Muslim population will not exceed 10% by 2050.

And since you OBVIOUSLY missed it, I wasn't claiming that Europe would be majority Muslim by 2050, and cited the article to specifically demonstrate that it would NOT be.  Perhaps you should read what I write a little more closely?

It also points out that muslim birth rates are falling towards those of the general European population so how is this worth discussing? I guess your comment that it will not be “that soon” is technically correct but is misleading as it suggests that it will be a whole lot closer than 10% in 2050.

Why do you keep missing the point?  Another one of the articles I referenced, intentionally, indeed said that Muslim fertility rate would in fact go down over time.  From 3.0 to 2.5.  But the non-Muslim rate would be around 1.8, below replacement.  By the way, it did not point out that Muslim fertility rates would fall to equal the general European population.  It gave 2.5 as the floor.  So, it must be worth discussing, then. Maybe you don't want to discuss it.

We have done this song and dance before where you talk about the dangers of muslim population.

I might have to go back and review what I've posted before, because either you're confusing me with someone else or I'm coming down with Alzheimers and don't remember singing and dancing like you claim.  But I have noticed that you have a tendency to overreact to things.

If the trend continues, then Britain will eventually be majority Muslim.  I'm not pretending to be OK with this, I AM OK with this.  If the Britons don't bother to reproduce, they deserve to be replaced.  Do you know any British Muslims, by the way?  I do, and believe me, they are cool with Britain eventually being majority Muslim. So what's your problem with it?

You for whatever reason (presumably to avoid this whole shebang) decided to announce that it does not bother you at all and it is not really relevant to the thread in general or factually correct at all so why did you post it? It is one of your hobby horses so pretending disinterest is not fooling anyone.

Danger?  You know, I am a little unsure about this danger you're referring to.  The thing that I worry about is British culture disappearing in Britain.  I like British culture.  I'm not so keen on Islamic culture.  I don't see why this is so objectionable.  I'm happy to discover that there are British Muslims who have actually assimilated into British culture while maintaining their religion.  That makes me hopeful.

Your hobby horse appears to be pointing out hobby horses.  Phantom hobby horses.

If you want to label me as a racist, go ahead, just do it.  Doesn't matter.  Because you'd be wrong.  And I'd still love you.

I hope you're right about the "latest groups of immigrants".  My German ancestors who immigrated to the US in the latter half of the 19th century did assimilate rather quickly.  I am acquainted and worked with a number of Vietnamese refugees in Washington state and they assimilated like right away.  And a Chinese lady I worked with as well.  All of them might as well have been native born.

It's surprising sometimes to hear someone speaking with a perfectly native British accent over here and then you notice that they're middle eastern in heritage.  An old friend of mine who was born in India and brought here as a young teen still retains his Indian accent, though softened slightly. His son, though, speaks the Queen's English.

Historically, these kinds of migrations have altered cultures, but sometimes in odd ways.  The Norman French who invaded Britain in 1066 were actually descendants of Norse invaders, and they had abandoned their own language and culture, to take up French language and culture.  And these were the ones that changed English from its Germanic roots to the hybrid Germanic/Romance language we know and love today.  And to say that the Normans didn't alter civilization in Britain is to be very inaccurate.  It might have been more because they became dominant by conquest, as did the Celts, Romans and Danes who preceded them.  I think that when there is a non-invasive migration one is more likely to see the migrants assimilate into the existing culture than retain their original culture.  But sometimes (rarely) the migrants displace the original people.
