Herbal teas

I did an analysis of the text and found clear indications it is a translation from Adamic though there are a few verses that may have been Sumerian or Enochian.

The text in its original tongue:

Gainay, othay inksdray areay otnay orfay ethey odybay oray ellybay.

Yes, that's one way of looking at it. The church offers no guidance in regards to herbal tea, however. I'm sure whatever good-faith conclusion you come up with is fine.

Did you not see the dictionary definitions I pasted? Herbal tea is defined as tea.

If the Church offers “no guidance” about something, it’s a safe bet the Church doesn’t care what you do with it. The Church does offer guidance regarding consumption of true tea, but of course, herbal tea (so called), is not true tea. You really are over-thinking this.

Regarding your dictionary definitions, I prefer the more precise definition in the Wikipedia entry cited by me and someone else here.

I typically use it in the mornings. I don't notice much stimulation from it,  but simply a bit of added focus.  Years ago I would occasionally have issues with hypoglycemia mid morning and ginseng appears to have helped control blood sugar.  Keep in mind that I'm talking about American ginseng,  not Asian ginseng.

If your sleep troubles are anxiety related,  you might want to check out magnolia bark teas.  I like to combine magnolia bark with passionflower leaves to help with anxiety related sleep issues.

Love passionflower (also hops), unfortunately it is more than just anxiety related and needs stronger stuff than herbs usually, but I need to take a 'vacation' sometime, so will make a note to try these next time.  Hadn't come across magnolia bark before, iirc (haven't studied herbs for probably 25 years since properly diagnosed, so little blurry).  My daughter is on antianxiety meds.  I will have to check to see how it interacts with her long list, including diabetes type 1.

Wish health issues weren't so much like a massive puzzle which has lost its box so no pictures to guide and likely some missing pieces, but who knows how many?

I can't function very well in the morning until my meds kick in fully, which takes about 2 hours, so often don't really get going till afternoon.  I think I will try American ginseng for a morning brew to see if that can get things going quicker.  I get hypoglycemic issues when not great sleep (passed all the major tests for it two years after my son was born when we were clueless, but strangely when he started going to school and I could sleep in, no more hypoglycemia...doctors were mystified until 20 years later when all was revealed, sort of...well, the big thing).  Still can't fast if I want to stay vertical.

Flash back to childhood and feeling clueless because my ear could never follow pig Latin.  Trying to make me feel inferior rubbing it in my face?!  :cray:

Some buttons (referring to the thread, not my childhood trauma) just won't wear out no matter how often pushed. ;)

The church doesn't make any such distinction.

My son is all about pig latin. I actually have a hard time following it too. 😛

The Church doesn’t need to make such distinction where the distinction already exists. Any person in possession of the facts will recognize that there is true tea (derived from the tea plant) and there are beverages that have been given the misnomer “tea” when they really are no such thing.

And yes, in this instance the Wikipedia explanation is superior to any source that does not make an informative distinction between true tea and what is no more tea than root beer is real beer.

In its handbook, no.  It certainly does online as I linked to LDS.org articles discussing the benefits of herbal teas and cautions on use,

It certainly made a distinction on my mission, where we missionaries freely consumed herbal teas (so called) as did the local Church members.
