SouthernMo Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 This TED talk got me thinking about my paradigm on the church/gospel. Should we view the teachings of the church as a scout - and be open minded & pragmatic, or view it as a soldier - a faith to be defended? 2
RevTestament Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 I view everything as a scout using her paradigm. But that includes my own experiences. In other words I do not approach the gospel solely from a scholarly standpoint. I read it, explore it, study about it, pray about it, and live it. All those things go into drawing my conclusions. And my beliefs have changed over time. 3
Prof Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 What a great talk and a great approach to life. I especially like the last few minutes where she talks about "What do you yearn for?" Thanks for posting this!!!
The Nehor Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 We do not want anyone with a Scout mindset. We are phasing it out next year.
