Or, were the Founding Fathers guilty of going against the will of the lord by disobeying the English King? King George is an absolute Saint compared to the communist regime in China. The Lord told the saints to submit to the Roman rule and they were not a righteous government as well. we are told to submit until the Lord says otherwise. Has He spoken through His Prophet otherwise?

Can we ignore them and say we are doing His will? The Jewish authorities forbid the early disciples from preaching Jesus. When the laws of the land conflict with Christ's mandate, we have to follow Him. Jim

Eek! Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 "Wisdom is justified by her children." This was Jesus' response to accusations that he was hanging out with bad people (Republicans and sinners, as I recall). The principle that "wisdom is justified by her children" invites us to use wisdom according to the specifics of a situation, rather than relying exclusively on scriptural or historical precedent. Imo the Mormon religion is showing wisdom in their approach to Communist China. 1
Avatar4321 Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I was pondering this some more and the people of anti Nephi Lehi came to mind. These people submitted to the point of being killed. And the lamanites killing them were not even the legitimate governments. they are considered righteous for their faith and submission. Should we not keep the commandments of the Lord and likewise submit ourselves even in the case of evil governments?
