I agree with most of what you wrote except your accusation that I think abortion is no big deal. Since I stated in the quote that my position is exactly the same as the churches, you either didn’t read that or believe that the church also believes abortion is no big deal. A position I doubt you believe.

And yes, I believe slavery of women and children, murder of all men of entire nations is just as wicked ad abortion

I must have understood you - the way I understood it is that you seemed to think it was of little consequence or not even a sin.  It is the medium we are working through that may be the problem.  It is so much easier to understand one another when we are face-to-face.

I agree with you that slavery is wrong.  I don't think there was ever a question about murder.  The slavery question to me is interesting.  It has been a practice since history began it seems.  Every race, every people, every nation has known slavery for thousands of years.  When Americans talk of slavery it is almost exclusively the slavery of Africans.  What is strange about this is that it is treated as if it is novel, unique,  or somehow much worse than the slavery experienced by everyone else in history.  Maybe because it is more recent it has more social value.

During Biblical times slavery appears to have been a given, a fact of life or civilization.  It was neither condemned or condoned. Slavery certainly did not end with the end of the NT and it has continued until today.  It is an evil that takes many forms today; some think any degree or form of abuse of employees in today's world is simply the social impact of past acts of slavery.  It is a big bucket of fish when discussed in its broader applications, but I am really, really digressing.  Cheers
