Storm Rider Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 There were certainly duplications when the technology was not available for everyone to know exactly who and who did not have their temple work completed. I suspect there were those who just wanted to be cautious and did the work for the ancestors without knowing with certitude that it had already been accomplished. When you do genealogy you see individuals with their work done multiple times. I don't see a problem other than that had the individuals known they could have done the word for others. Now the technology is better and I don't think we find high levels of duplicated temple work. Being humans I am sure it still happens, but just not as often. I don't think for a minute the church lacks for names to send to the temple. The amount of work being done now is incredible and the actual ordinance work slows down the process. If anything, I expect to see - or at least it will not surprise me - the ordinances for the dead to take significantly less time in the future. This will allow the work to speed up. The live endowments will remain a longer process.
