kiwi57 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 At the bottom of the first page of the Josh and Lolly Weed thread, I find the following comment from Darren10: Quote Really? After they attack the LDS Church for killing people? In order to find that, I had to log out and read the thread as a guest. I mention it, because I've evidently been banned from that thread. I only wrote one comment in that thread; but it has disappeared completely. And what is more, my comment was rather similar in intent to Darren's, above. Mind you, I can't prove that. Not only was I thread banned, but my comment was deleted, in its entirety, without a trace. Which is, as far as I can recall, something of a first. Please note that I am not in any way suggesting that Darren10 should be thread banned. His comment is relevant and apropos. But am I the only person who is completely mystified with some of the recent moderator decisions? It would really be nice if, just occasionally, they were to deign to condescend to explain to us mere mortals the rationale for some of their actions. To be honest, all I really expect from the Unaccountable Ones is to lock this thread with some cryptic remark like "You know what you did." Well, since I won't get a chance to respond after the thread is locked, I'll say it now: No. I don't. I really have no idea what rule, if any, I broke. If there really is a rule like "The Progressive clique are not to be gainsaid," I wish someone would spell it out. And in fact, every time I see a response like "You know what you did," I get the feeling that what it really means is something like, "Okay, we can't justify our action, but we're not about to admit that to the likes of you." After all, who are we to dare to question such as them?

After all, who are we to dare to question such as them? At this point one can only guess. Could it be there tends to be a bias toward the more progressive LDS points of view and with that comes a distaste toward the “harsh sounding” comments made by the “paleo Mormons?” Could it simply be a matter of the squeaky wheels getting the grease, a pattern where the easily offended complainers get the action without much investigation to determine if their complaints are really justified? Could it be that the ideal is to have dispassionate, purely intellectual discussions, so when True Blue Mormon participants passionately defend traditional Mormonism it is viewed as abusive? Could it be that because the institutional Church tends to be much more conservative than what the progressives would like to see they are viewed as the underdogs and for this reason get preferential treatment? Who knows? But the one thing I do know is this: the more unprovocative, purely informational and devoid of emotion a defender of the Church can make his or her posts to be the better. Gray Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 BANNED BEHAVIORS include but are not limited to:• Creating another user name (sock puppet) to get around suspension or banning

Quite honestly, what is surprising to me, is that the mods haven't acted sooner regarding your manner of posting here. You come in with your one line supposed gotchas or attempted zingers that many times include a personal attack, but do not at all invite discussion or add anything to the current discussion. There are many on here who disagree and are on opposite sides of discussions, but who do so respectfully and minus any personal insults or attacks. Maybe try less of your current manner of posting and try to come into a discussion with just expressing your opinion and with an attempt to see the other person's point of view? Just suggestions and observations and trying to give you some helpful advice. I didn't see your comment, but if it was on par with many of your others here, I support the mods decision. I too have been thread banned without explanation. My best guess is that the Fed Reserve police didn't like what I said. I was totally mystified, as several others have voiced here - I will not mention any names - but you are certainly not alone. I usually enjoy your posts but you are somewhat confrontational or a little personal about it, so if you think back on your remark, was it like that?

As I recall, it was a one line comment that expressed disagreement with the Weed’s accusation that the Church Is guilty of murder. Kiwi’s comment was specifically targeted at the Weed’s accusation and was not in any way aimed at anyone who participates on this board. Edited January 27, 2018 by Bobbieaware
Popular Post The Nehor Posted January 27, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 27, 2018 Being thread banned every so often is healthy and good. It means you are an interesting contributor. Whining about it makes you a less interesting contributor. 5
