Atheist Mormon Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 By character I'm a vindictive person, I don't forgive people unless they show genuine remorse for the wrongs they caused, I expect them to reciprocate like I'd do in the situation. Anyway coming back Mormons I hated.....who later became my favorite Mormon guys, in their younger days they caused alots of damage to what I loved most; You see Im old, I saw Danny Ainge play in Mariott Center, Steve young kick rear ends of my beloved Utes and later my Cowboys.......How could I forgive them? And yet those guys became my most favorite heroes of good times. I lament alot about getting old but watching those guys in their heydays was a privilege only experienced can appreciate..... 2

Danny Ainge was a mean player, great player, but he could get inside a guys head and rattle him. I saw him once, grab a guy who had his spot for a jump ball and spin him and throw him to the floor. But I used to love seeing Ainge, McHale, and Byrd with the home court advantage. Larry Byrd was mutant or from another planet, with so many of his shots defying the laws of physics. These guys would force others players to dead spots that they knew of on the court, which made it easy to steal the ball, when instead of bouncing, it was more like a thud.
Robert F. Smith Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 How about Robbie Bosco, who was a BYU and Green Bay quarterback? He is now an old guy (54) and lives in my stake. Steve Young is now a lawyer, and Danny Ainge just had a son make an unsuccessful run for Mayor of Provo. 1

Tanner Ainge was a republican candidate for Utah's 3rd congressional district--the seat vacated by Jason Chaffetz 1

I've been meaning to say this for a while, but I appreciate a lot of your posts. I don't always understand you, but one still senses an honest and good man behind the words. 1

I hated coach John McKay of the Buccaneers for drafting Steve Young, and benching him behind Testaverde. I recall on a few occasions when Testaverde got benched or taken out for a minor injury, Steve Young went in and moved the team down the field when he was allowed to pass - I remember thinking to myself why doesn't McKay just leave in Young? Then I learned Young was LDS. So I wondered if he suffered prejudice because of that. Of course the Bucs traded him off I think to San Fran or he later ended up there with a great career, while the Bucs languished until they finally got a new coach in Dungy. Testaverde never amounted to much. He had a rocket arm but that was about it. Young had everything. I am glad you hated him for the good player and person he was and is

Thank you for kind words Okrahomer...I also frequent RFM and could never understand the animosity towards the Church, I could understand the hurt from an idividual...an ex wife, a bishop whatever...tome life was way too short to dwell on bad stuff happened, I admit though I was very lucky to meet good people in my life and coupled with the best State I lived, it leaves nothing but good memories......And if I was LDS I wouldn't take anything personal whatever people would say... Fighting with floods in the middle of the Houston I try to stay positive, my house isn'r flooded but the carnage continues around me, hopefully it will be over soon...... 1
