Four Wards in Three Years...Head is Spinning!

Recommended Posts

Three years ago on this date, I was still living in my Mother's where we had been caring for her. She had just passed away a month before, so that is "one Ward". On May 19, 2014, we bought ourselves another home, this is Ward number two. Since we have lived in this one house almost three years next month, Ward boundaries have changed. Today they changed again...making our fourth Ward. Before this we spent 30 years in the same Ward.

I am having trouble seeing the method in the madness.

Has anyone else ever been through so many changes, so fast?

Being a Missionary does not count.

I grew up in the exact same ward until we moved ehen I was 17. There rhe boundaries changed due to the overall growth in thst area. This was northeast Illinois. My own family (wife and children) now live in Spring, TX and over the past three years we got zone from the Spring Ward to the new Spring Ward with an entirely new bishopric, changed buildings as a brand new one was built and that came with new boundaries. We were still in the Spring Ward but got placed in the Woodlands Stake as opposed to the Spring Stake in order to align the building's scheduling pursposes, and now boundaries have shifted again and we are back in the Spring Stake, still Spring Ward, lost half our population to the Klein Ward, Woodlands Stake, but are gaining half of the Cypress Creek Ward which was the original Spring Ward.

Did you follow all of that? The blessings of rapid church growth in a specified area. :)

Any chance you know Karen Ditrick? I know I am spelling that wrong. I taught her in the Woodlands ward on my mission 25+ years ago.

Not at the top of my head. Is she still in the area?

I really don't know.  She was also single at the time and I don't know if married and if do if she took his name. I found out she was baptized after I left the area.

So, not only may she have chantes a bit in the past 25 years but so has the Woodlands. I bet much of it you would not recognize it today. :)
