I saw a story about her on a TV report where she was visiting a village somewhere and ministered to a young bedridden boy, who had some kind of sickness that made him go stiff with a shaking body. She simply began to rub her hands up and down his body; rubbing his legs and chest. In the process of doing this his body began to relax and loosen up and when she was done he was no longer shaking and was able to relax and fall asleep. She was an amazing woman.

I watched the canonization of Mother Teresa at the Vatican today -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RighzMfaZqA .  A beautiful ceremony, declaring her a saint.  A huge crowd and many foreign dignitaries.  It is so fitting that the LDS Brethren have praised her from the pulpit at our general conferences.

The First Presidency issued a statement about the September (1997) death of Mother Teresa, the Catholic nun who ministered to the poor of Calcutta, India, and elsewhere:
“The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints joins with millions worldwide in mourning the death of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Her life of unselfish service is an inspiration to all the world, and her acts of Christian goodness will stand as a memorial for generations to come.
“Recognizing her special devotion to children, she lived as the Savior taught: ‘And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me’ (Matt. 18:5).
“We express our deepest condolences to the Catholic church as well as Mother Teresa’s close associates.”
