Prior to joining the church she had a baby with a married man and so she raised the child in the church without his help as far as I know. This child now isn't active but can the mom have her currently inactive daughter sealed to her in the Temple?

Also, the daughter would need to participate in the sealing, which sounds unlikely given that she is currently not active. Thanks, -Smac 3

Let's say some spouse goes inactive and never comes back in this or the next, would the remaining spouse's seal be undone and they get someone else to be sealed to? or what if the daughter became active again, how would she be sealed to her Mom if the dad was never in the picture? would they just wait and let God figure it out?

The remaining spouse does not lose the blessings of being sealed. If you are referring to your first question, if the parents were already sealed she would have been born in the covenant and already sealed to them. If the parents were not sealed, after everyone dies the daughter could be sealed to her parents by proxy. The main concern is just being sealed so she can be part of the entire patriarchal family in heaven. 1
cdowis Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 This whole issue can be handled after all parties are deceased for at least a year. The sealings can be done at that time. HINT: Under this condition, a man and woman can be sealed together even if they were not married in this life. Verified thru a temple president.
