Assuming there was nothing medically wrong with the arm? Or would you find no reason to doubt their sincerity or question their sanity? Couple of thoughts: 1. Genitals are not the same as an arm. Arms and genitals serve different purposes. It's not an apples to apples comparison. 2. Even so, there are legitimate reasons to sometimes remove specific body parts, be they arms OR genitals, as well as a variety of other body parts. Namely: a. If an appendage (such as an arm) is causing harm to the rest of the person (i.e. it has a cancerous tumor which is spreading, e.coli, etc). b. Removing a portion of a person's otherwise healthy stomach and/or colon to help them loose weight, especially when weight is threatening the life of the individual. c. Removing or augmenting unwanted body parts which are otherwise perfectly healthy and non-life-threatening (I.e. plastic surgery) to increase the individuals mental and/or emotional health, increase self-esteem, avoid teasing, decrease depression and/or suicidal throught or behaviors, etc. I submit that gender reassignment surgery falls into category "c". Individuals diagnosed with gender dysphoria who seek surgery to align their outward gender express their self-identifying gender HAVE consulted and counseled with therapists, psychologists, and psychotherapists to ensure their sanity is stable prior to undergoing the knife. From what I have read, many transgender individuals have struggled for years with depression and suicidal thoughts because of their inability to conform to gender expressions that contradict their innate self-identity. Many attempt suicide. Bringing their body into alignment with their innate self-expression is usually (if not always?!) supervised by professionals familiar with the procedures, including attending to their psychological health and the best possible outcome. Those I know report vastly improved mental, physical, and emotional health, happiness, and stability. So, your concern for their sanity is understandable, and is why so many professionals who are well versed with these issues are involved. Edited January 21, 2016 by Daniel2 1

The sex we are when we are born as children of our parents in heaven is the sex we will always be, regardless of how we feel about that and regardless of what we choose to do to or have done to our bodies. We ARE either male or female, not both at the same time, even though both males and females have a lot of things in common, including the common X chromosome while we are mortals. So we are what sex we are born as when we are born in heaven, regardless of any screw ups we may go through in mortality, and when we are resurrected we will be restored as we were meant to be, physically, when we were born in heaven. Thank you. I see what you are saying and understand your interpretation of the POF. Earlier today, on another thread, it was mentioned (IMO) that spirits have always been there. That we will not create spirit children but they already exist. How, if matter is formed, are the genders created in spirit? I know this does not make sense and can't remember which thread it was on..but I guess we just cannot comprehend a beginning..let a lone..gender.

Parents who reproduce themselves and then, voila, then cometh a child. Not from nothing or out of nowhere, but from parents who already existed prior to their child being created. So where is the child before it is born? In the parents, from whence cometh the child. Next time on "Where Do Babies Come From?" we'll explore the idea of where parents come from. Stay tuned after these words from our sponsors.

I was talking about babies, aka children. The little versions of us, the kind of being we are. Do you know where babies come from, bro?

The scriptures are directed as us. They are not directed at dogs, cats, fish, birds, bacteria, or anything else. As the sons and daughters of God, our gender is important. We will all be resurrected with our gender remaining the same. As to some forms of life who do not have one set gender, big deal. They can ignore the proclamation. They can also ignore the whole concept of exaltation as it does not apply to them. was this answer as obvious to you as it was to me? it amazes me the lengths people will go to ignore this fundamental truth
