Thank you for this huge effort, it will take some time to digest. Much of the metaphysics bothers me, but I can see that in the practice of a living faith, we are close, with only the words getting in the way.

I will comment as time permits, and want to read that Florensky book! I just wanted to answer your post quickly and let you know I am still here!

I understand and no worries.  Thanks for reading my ramblings!  We've discussed Mormonism's and Orthodoxy's similarities before and agree that the two are very close - except for the metaphysics.  I'm with you regarding the overarching importance of practice.  Metaphysics is fun, but it's just words.  We can talk in circles about this stuff and get nowhere, since metaphysical systems are founded on empty air.  It's all in the unprovable assumptions.  The real proof is in the practice.  If you elect to postpone further discussion until the Florensky book arrives or put this particular conversation to bed, fine by me.  I'll let you know when my copy arrives.

Yeah, I don't think there is much we can do to convince me of the metaphysics, having left Catholicism over that. Just couldn't take it!
