What Is The Damage That Gay Marriage Does To Children

Don't bother us with the that biased right-wing source of information. Why spread the hate. Are you inline with Elder Andersen's view of love? How does stating this show that we love the homosexuals? One day gay marriage will be in the temple.

Is that sarcasm?  It seems to be considering your other posts...

The day gay marriage is in the temple the Church will be in a state of apostasy and waiting to be set in order by God as the scriptures describe.

And the day that gay marriage is in the temple will be the day I go inactive so as not to participate in the apostasy.

You forgot to include the tongue-in-cheek icon.  :acute:

While certainly well intended, your's is an incredibly naive and myopic view of the situation, and a lame dismissal of the wealth of supportive documentation I presented (much of which is fairly contemporary to our homosexual-friendly culture).

What is actually terrible is how easily and yet extensively you and others have not only been duped, but also the seemingly closed-minded tenacity with which you hold onto the dupe. I unleashed a deluge of countervailing data, and you are unfazed, Astonishing,

I didn't dismiss any of your links. My comment was merely an appeal to consider something. You could be duped and not realize it. that's what duping is. I'm not closed-minded at all. I think you've misjudged me and have over-reacted to my stated concern. I don't even know that my concern is valid, but with this response it could have merit. I'll remain open-minded and wait and see.

Have fun.

According to the CDC, homosexuals are the main cause for the spread of HIV. http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/risk/gender/msm/facts/

Thanks for the link. I was under the impression that HIV infection rates among straight populations in developing countries on a global scale may have outpaced the infection rate among the gay population (though I am not sure, even on that point), but I see you were confining your remarks to the U.S.

For those anticipating that I would denounce or deflect the statistics from the CDC, or deny that HIV rates among the gay population are alarming, nothing could be further from the truth. Denial of the problem is never helpful, and acceptance and acknowledgement of the problem is the first step towards finding solutions.

As I said previously, clearly, encouraging lifelong abstinence, reparation therapy, mixed orientation marriages, withholding socially recognized same-sex marriages that could promote stable, monogamous relationships, and/or ongoing shaming and condemnation haven't had much effect on lowering gay male promiscuity.

HIV is a serious thing. And there is much discussion in gay circles about the increasing rates among younger gay men.

The thinking is that unfortunately and ironically for younger gay men, fear of infection is down because treatments have become so much better. HIV is no longer a death sentence; it's chronic but manageable and medications keep viral loads at virtually undetectable and non-manifesting levels.

Younger gay men (under age 24) don't recall the devastation or fear of the epidemic that killed so many in the 80's, and many assume a cure will be found within the next few years. So, safer sex practices have been abandoned by the younger population. And a new generation of education and prevention is necessary. HIV is seen as different than AIDS, itself, and deaths from HIV have dramatically decreased, while quality of life gas sharply increased.

I believe that encouraging monogamy, the cautionary teachings against promiscuity and unprotected, non-monogamous sex, and the increasing social and even religious expectations for gay couples to from committed marriages are all part of a multifaceted approach that will benefit gay men and aid in the prevention and decrease the spread of disease in our society.

As for the rest of my post, like Rockpond I find it increasingly frustrating that you continue to ask questions without the courtesy of responding to those that have been asked of you. It does appear that your interest is not one of wanting to engage in dialogue, but merely to preach and condemn. Unfortunate.
