Cd Drive Question

I like to watch DVD's and lately there is difficulty in doing so. The computer has an INTEL quad 4 2.6 Mhz processor with 6 GB of memory, but it's about 5 or so years old. When I watch certain movies, the play pauses about every 30 seconds for about 10 seconds and then resumes play. I have checked the drivers and they seem up to date.

So, I am thinking of installing a new DVD/CD drive. Or should I be looking elsewhere? There could be an issue with the certificates or something.

I would get a good malware program and try that.  Two that I use are Malwarebytes anti-malware and Emsisoft anti-malware.  Both are freeware and I run them about once a week.

Did you have any luck?  You can get a good DVD drive for ~$20 (for a regular desktop computer), so it isn't a major investment.  You could also try another DVD playback program.
