Last Words

Nothing to do with the church, but I have been fascinated by the investigation of airplane accidents -- what happened and how it happened.

I have run across the last words of pilots, based on black box recordings.

I have wondered what I would be thinking about if I were in an airplane that was going to crash.

GG Story...

Years ago when I was inactive (but still prayed and read my scriptures), I was taking one of my first flights alone from Calif to Chicago's O'Hara airport where my husband would meet me and we'd attend the last days of his business mtg (he was already there).

My flight left Ontario Airport and headed east... it was an early flight and so I was able to get a seat without anyone else next to me... I was quite nervous flying alone so I started to pray... as I prayed I really did pour my heart out to Heavenly Father about how nervous I was and praying for safety of our flight... as I continued praying, this feeling of absolute peace filled me completely...

About that time we were passing over Zion Nat'l Park and I looked down at the beauty and felt so thankful for the blessing of peace I had felt... about that time we started hitting turbulance as we were over the mountains and heading into bad weather the further east we got.  The turbulance became worse and the passengers were visibly nervous (white knuckles, etc), and inspite of the plane's jerking and shaking I felt completely at ease.  I just knew we were safe and not in danger of crashing...

I'll never forget that feeling of peace that enveloped me...

I would be thinking of my son and what would happen to him and then I would think what heaven is actually like because the brochures make it seem nice or whatever
