It pains me greatly that there is so much emotion surrounding this issue, and truth, the Diversity lobby has greatly used devious tactics to accomplish their goals; I well know it.

In my opinion, the gay/lesbian agenda should be completely separate from the plight of the Intersexed and transgendered. They have not hesitated to throw them under the bus if it suits their needs. In the case of the Intersexed, it should not require a medical professional to know that there is an issue needing great compassion. I would hope that would be the case for the transgendered also because I believe that wanting to be opposite of your apparent gender should be indicative of a real issue, though we do not know its etiology precisely.

I would like to know the incidence of predatory conduct among transgendered Male to Female folk, but I am quite sure that obtaining real data would be extremely difficult since it would likely be clouded by those who have preconceived lurid ideas about them. I doubt that there is much fear in regards to a Female wanting to be a Male, such is the prejudice.

I think it likely that this California law is simply a red herring thrown at voters, since real transgendered folk invariably do not need to use showers in PE since they get released from the obligation for obvious reasons.

As an intersexed woman, I have been challenged twice in my life. Both times were at the food court in a local shopping center, and was done by persons of a certain race known for their hostility. Surely, I do not expect to ever be awarded any sort of beauty award, and while I fear that I look like the posterior of an equine, everyone I know seems bent on wearing down my self loathing to a manageable level, especially those troublesome Mormons.

My life is about loving and serving Heavenly Father in the most devout way possible. Every single person in my ward is supportive, loving and supportive to me. There are no restrictions on my activities, and the men here are at times annoyingly protective. After years of fending for myself, I simply do not know what to do now.

I hope that those who vote on the California law will do so after much prayer and consideration.

I think we might be headed to a point where there is one general restroom with 100% private stalls (including urinals) and community sinks. Who knows, maybe with men and women sharing the sinks, more men will actually wash their hands!

It was nice having a day or two to decompress. For me, when my attitude is wrong, it does not seem to survive Sacrement service.

I do not know what the costs will be, but perhaps a certain number of private showers in the boy and the girls would ease the way? Believe me, for many of these kids, if you get them clothed no one knows and it should not be spoken of.

I was a late bloomer and was bullied in the bathroom a couple of times in junior high school. After I grew to be 6'4" the bullying stopped. I don't know if there is a perfect solution, but hopefully one can be found that benefits all.

I have avoided these topics as a general rule, as they often become littered with mean, ignorant and spiteful comments. But I feel I might be able to offer an interesting perspective. First, comments like using bathrooms. I'm not sure what your bathrooms look like, but I know the bathrooms I use all have stalls with doors. In other countries the concept of unisex bathrooms is prevalent.

These concerns about increasing chances of lewdness, or some other dangerous behavior are unmerited. I actually can't even find one case of a a MTF transgender person utilizing the women's restroom to intentionally do something wrong. I can however find hundreds of cases of such deviant behavior done by natal men going into women's restrooms.

So many people automatically associate transgenderism as some sort of deviant behavior. Many people I have talked to still assume anyone that is gay is also a pedophile. It's very scary, and dangerous to have thoughts such as these.

The truth is, the more we learn about transgender people, people with gender dysphoria, or in my case, people that have abnormal chromosomal conditions, the more we realize that it is a medical condition, not a mental one. In the case of the bathroom? We're just trying to pee. And should we use the mens room while presenting female, I can speak from personal experience... we get assaulted. If not physically, verbally. Nearly every time.

In regards to the showers... I can speak for the mens locker rooms I used in high-school growing up... the tree-of-life as it were. However, as I now use the women's locker room... again, I can't speak for all locker rooms... but the ones I use have private showers. And again, we just need someplace to change. We're not trying to do anything wrong. Just change in a safe place. The other women I know like me (and I) all make sure to stay as private as possible. For the REAL transgender or intersex person... I can assure you that we don't stand out. Not once has any woman ever looked twice at me while I'm changing in the locker room. And, as I am not sexually attracted to women, and I identify as a woman, that is where I feel morally appropriate being and changing. I actually feel a lot dirtier, and immoral in the mens locker room. I haven't used that locker room in a long time.

If the girls showers in high-school are not private, I can assure you that the mtf transgender girl will not want to expose themselves. Their primary goal is complete acceptance and passability. If they are really transgender (and THAT is a good question to think about), they would not do anything to out themselves if it could be avoided.

Really though, there was a great comment made earlier... what is gender? We like to think of gender as our sex organs, but those do not truly define gender. If a man is injured, or has cancer and loses his testicles, is he not still a man? If he has his entire penis blown off in a horrible accident, is he not still a man? I have two X chromosomes, and Y chromosome where the part of the chromosome that determines gender is inverted, and missing. Which gender am I? The gender my doctor assigned me at birth? Because doctors now tell me that I am female, without making any surgical modifications.

I'm very curious to see how gender discussions and perceptions change. Worried as well, as again, real transgender people don't want a blurring of the lines. We like the traditional male/female dynamic. We just feel like we belong to the other team.

AndI believe the concern about lewdness was about straight boys pretending to be transgendered (assuming here that all that is needed is a statement of preference, no other behaviour such as wearing girls' clothing) in order to have such opportunities, not about actual transgendered individuals.

Their primary goal is complete acceptance and passability.

As it is with most children, though some find it as class clowns, jocks, etc.

The idea that is mostly being expressed here is to create an environment where all children feel safe, not to give preference to a certain group of individuals for whatever reason (they are the majority or a sensitive minority).
