Moon Quaker Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) When my neighbor was moving out over a year ago, she didn't have enough room in her new apartment for all of her belongings. So she offered a bunch of stuff to me. She's a nice lady, but I think giving me stuff was two-fold. It saved her a trip to the D.I. and I could benefit from whatever I found useful.Anyway, she was aware that I'm "less active," and so she [well-meaningly] threw-in some church stuff (I guess it was three-fold; the third being that she could chalk it up as "[passive] missionary work.") So I've finally got around to clearing the stuff she gave me that I don't really need, namely the church-related items. I will be taking it to the D.I. unless anyone local (in the Salt Lake City area) wants to come pick any of it up; I'll give it aware for FREE!!!Framed Greg Olsen print (with John 8:12 "I am the light of the world" caption.)Framed print of Jesus with sheep (with "the Lord is my shepherd ..." bit from Psalms 23Hardback Doctrine and Covenants Commentary (1978 Deseret Book)Paperback The Book of Mormon (1978, military-size edition?)Paperback The Articles of Faith (1982 printing)Hardcover To Him That Believet (1989 printing; Bookcraft)Hardcover, with sleeve, The Osmonds: The Official Story of the Osmond Family by Paul H. Dunn (1975; Bookcraft)PM if you want any of it (again, local pick-up only.) Otherwise it's going to the D.I. (or the trash, whichever is more convenient.) Edited March 3, 2013 by Moon Quaker
Calm Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) Don't throw away the framed stuff, that is worth some money. The print just by itself is at least $30. My memory says that is likely around $80 framed with the scripture, but it's been over ten years and that was Canadian prices so my memory on US prices is probably hazy. I am remembering the other print going for around $45. Edited March 3, 2013 by calmoriah

I did think about just removing the Greg Olsen print and using the frame, but I would have to get it rematted due to the scripture portion sticking out like a sore thumb. But don't worry; I would never actually trash the frames. I may do some more research and list the frames and pictures on eBay.I will send a pre-addressed "if it fits it ships" pre-paid, you can put them in the box and give them back to the post office, if you can saith that long. Pa Pa, if you want to send me a prepaid box, I will definitely send the books your way; just PM me.(Obviously now I realize that selling the frames/prints at a fair price might actually be worth a few minutes of my time than just a trip to the D.I.) Calm Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I would be concerned about shipping the frames, very likely damage would occur without extra care and that would cost.
Calm Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Olsen is the number one Christian artist out there last I heard, it should be very easy to sell them as they are not LDS unique as a few of his are (the Sacred Grove).
