Calm Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) The report I read said it had nothing to do with the temple itself....what that exactly means I don't know. Probably the people weren't attending the temple or going into it.Smac's updated link:COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus police responded to a shooting with multiple victims Tuesday afternoon before 5 p.m. The shooting was reported on the west side of Columbus on the 3800 block of Gateway Blvd.According to representatives of the Columbus Ohio Temple, a Mormon temple, the shooting occurred in the parking lot.Officials said the shooting had nothing to do with the temple. Judd Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Served my mission there. That's where we would hold transfer meetings. Drove by the temple a couple months ago when I was out there interviewing.
Calm Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 From the comment section (don't recommend reading, pretty worthless save this comment):I live near Columbus, OH. A witness on the local news stated that the shooting had nothing to do with the temple. The shooting carried over into the temple's parking lot.http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/26/17105967-three-injured-in-shooting-at-ohio-temple#comments

Buckeye Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Wow. I was just there for an endowment session on Saturday. I haven't heard anything beyond the general news reports. Will post if I learn anything.
Calm Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Apparently it did not happen in the parking lot, but on a road behind it (or the temple can't remember, but not on church property apparently).
DH Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) http://www.10tv.com/...-west-side.htmlThe road the police cars are on is Gateway Blvd. I was there for a sealing a week and a half ago. Edited February 27, 2013 by DH
DH Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Well, it seems it did happen in the parking lot, after all. But it was unrelated to the Church or temple. Apparently a domestic dispute by (as far as I can tell) non-Mormons. When I first heard about all this yesterday, I was a bit worried someone I know might have been hurt (I have friends who could very well have been there that day), but fortunately it wasn't. (I feel bad for the people involved, but am still glad it wasn't someone I know?)
