Nathair/|\ Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Exactly what it says. I am not suggesting the LDS believed he lied, my point is that he cannot lie, so what he said he meant. He did not leave us orphans, the Holy Spirit came to the church, and he is to stay forever, Christ is with the church for all time, that is his promise, and he has been with the church ever since, he is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, his word does not change.Whom are you responding to?
savedbygrace Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 sorry, both to yourself and saintsalive
telnetd Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 President Thomas S. Monson's mission as God's prophet and president of the Church of Jesus Christ is to bring people to Christ.Jesus gave this mission to all his disciples. That is why even women in my church have authorityto baptize.Gail
Nathair/|\ Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Exactly what it says.In that case, I'm not sure what the point of bringing it up in this discussion would be. Could you elaborate?
halconero Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I am very pleased for you halconero. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ my saviour and God, who died for me and established his church on earth which he promised he would never leave, and never has, because he cannot lie, that I know is truth, because Christ upholds his church through the Spirit of Truth. However I am not a prophet, not having been given that gift by the Spirit who gives his gifts as he willsI invite you to seek out that gift, and ask for it! It is an amazing gift to have, for your own spiritual welfare and for others as well. 1
Kenngo1969 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 (edited) Jesus gave this mission to all his disciples. That is why even women in my church have authorityto baptize.GailGood for you. A man whom I revere as a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator in my Church reaffirmed that commission by proclaiming, "Every member a missionary."P.S.: While I believe Priesthood authority is necessary to baptize, that authority is not a sin qua non to missionary service. Many of the best missionaries I know can be found among my Sisters in the Church of Jesus Christ. Edited January 28, 2013 by Kenngo1969
