BookofMormonLuvr Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) I wanted to take this opportunity to apologize to the members of this board and LDS members in general for any contention, bickering, or fighting I have engaged in in the past. For many years I felt like the right way was to show people why they were wrong and why I was right. Often that led to contentious debates about polygamy, the nature of God, temple work, etc... and never accomplished anything. The Lord, over the last 2 years, has softened my heart and shown me that the far better course is to water the seed of faith in Jesus Christ that people already have planted in their hearts, instead of tearing away at it through contentious debate.I can't judge the journey/adventure of faith that the LORD is taking you on. I would now much rather build friendships based on our common love for Jesus, the Book of Mormon, and our hope for latter-day Zion.“If I esteem mankind to be in error, shall I bear them down? No. I will lift them up, and in their own way too, if I cannot persuade them my way is better; and I will not seek to compel any man to believe as I do, only by the force of reasoning, for truth will cut its own way. Do you believe in Jesus Christ and the Gospel of salvation which He revealed? So do I. Christians should cease wrangling and contending with each other, and cultivate the principles of union and friendship in their midst; and they will do it before the millennium can be ushered in and Christ takes possession of His kingdom.” (Joseph Smith Jr., July 9th, 1843)Sincerely,CNH Edited December 10, 2012 by BookofMormonLuvr 4
