maxrep12 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Yesterday evening, a thread started by Pahoran; Feeling The Honesty About Heber C. Kimballwas locked after my response(#9). Today, to my surprise, I see that at 5:20pm, Pahoran was allowed to slip in the final word on a thread that had been locked close to 24 hours ago.How is this possible? I have to ask what purpose rules serve here?
maxrep12 Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 It is also quite ironic that just recently a member of this board accused Shades and/or his mods of thread tampering in order to frame and defame said member. Yet we have fresh thread tampering right here. Which mod here helped Pahoran insert the last post into the day old closed thread?
Calm Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) Pahoran was the OPer of that thread, was he not? If so, it is possible he was able to open and close it again on his own.I just experimented on an old thread of mine that had been locked by mods. I could open and close it at will. volgadon Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 For the sake of experiment, I just locked and unlocked a thread of mine. 1

maxrep12 Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 Calmorah, do only certain members have the ability to unlock their own threads? I'm not seeing such an option.
Calm Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 When one is a contributor, the option for topic opening and closing (nothing else, you cannot alter someone's quote as I believe the claim of thread tampering on Shades' board was about if you and I are thinking about the same thing) appears down at the bottom of the replies next to the "Back to whatever forum one is in" link.I think one must have 2000 posts, IIRC to hit contributor status. You have only 886 to go before you can do the same thing.I think making an accusation of someone (in this case moderators) and then not apologizing for it when it is pointed out to one that one has likely made an error is poor form myself. 4
Skylla Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 We don't unlock threads to give anyone the last word.Skylla
