Just curious how chocolate cake could be considered a hot drink. There are some pretty odd people in the world.

The same way people consider rum cake a strong drink.

I am opposed to making up commandments to follow. If it does not come from the scriptures, A declaration by a prophet, or revelation it is probably a waste of time. While scruples that are not commandments do little harm in themselves they do distract from real commandments and often lead to self-righteousness.

I find it strange that this is one of the only commandments we do this too. If no dating until 16 is wise isn't not dating until you are 35 better? Why do we not pay 50% tithing? It is a logical progression. If fasting for two meals is good fasting for a week should be better right? If going on a two year mission is good why not a ten year one? Why go home at all? If not shopping on the Sabbath is good should we not extend this practice to the rest of the week? If early morning seminary is good for high school students should we not offer seminary classes for all members of all ages at 6 or 7 in the morning? Somehow the Word of Wisdom is the one we want to go above and beyond on.

If having a three hour block of meetings is good why not add extra meetings just to fill the time? Oh wait...................
