Yep, I corrected it but you beat me to it ;-)

BTW, why don't you include the rest op Popper's statement on Darwinism in your sig line?

The whole book? No need. Suffice it to say, my citation post-dates his so-called "recantation." 'Nuff said.

Yep.

I have a personal policy against doing business with anyone in my ward or my stake.

Must be a real frustration for multi-level marketers -- assuming you have any in your ward or stake. Mercifully, I don't that I know of.

Yay! MLM! Let's get another thread shut down and have a forced 24-hour vacation from the board!

Oops. That had slipped my mind. :pardon:

I guess there's something about Smac's threads that gives me the urge to mention MLMs.

To clarify: I think the problem is not with missionary service, but rather with people who misuse the skill sets developed as a missionary and combine them with greed to engage in questionable/dishonest business activities.

Unfortunately, I've had to turn down some very hard sells over the years for multilevel marketing, loan consolidation, financial "advice", etc. made by recently returned missionaries who I taught in Sunday School class as youth or had as Scouts. Very fine young men, but very questionable businesses they find themselves involved in, looking for a quick buck for college or to raise their young families. I'm quite immune to the hard sell anyway. Had to literally hang up on some of them because they wouldn't stop whcih I found very distasteful because I preferred to remember them as they used to be.
