Lots and lots of drinks....and salty treats so they drink even more... ;)

You are bad!

And then, when we don't let them gate-crash the Conference Center to use the facilities, they'll be flooding their internet fora with torrents of posts about how cruel we were...

Give the Devil the benefit of Law.

Very good clip. I am reminded of our trampling of the consititution and due process in the war on terror. We play into their hands, since we undo our own freedoms while they watch knowingly.

Edit: Oops, I guess that's politics. Sorry.

Watching from afar, I've wondered the same thing.

To add to it. Those who sacrifice liberty for security, deserve neither liberty or security.

The best approach with the demon strators is to ignore them.

I still think the best way to deal with the protestors is to show kindness to them. Bake cookies for them. Bring them drinks. They want us to be angry. They will think twice if we demonstrate the love of Christ instead of ridicule them or get upset with them.

You know it may seem like a little thing, but we aren't supposed to ridicule people. Or make fun of them. or mock them. We are told that it's those in the Great and spacious building who point fingers and mock. If we are acting like them, how exactly can we claim to be at the tree of life rather than just in another room down the hall of the building?

I don't have much to add to the general thread. I don't know what it would be like having someone do what I might perceive as a targeted display disrespectful and sacrilegious behavior, especially given the proximity to something I truly believed to be a holy gathering of a holy people in a holy place and therefore of great value.

I think I would be angry, but I would hope that I would find within me the spiritual courage and wherewithal to follow Avatar's most excellent advice. The best expression of the light that Christ has given a person is through love they bear for others.

They do not deserve either, and they will have neither. Only tyrants can even pretend to offer security. To do so. they start by restricting liberty, and end by erasing security.

One of these days I'm going to join the protestors with an assortment of signs designed to make us look like idiots such as:

"Ban Toasters, they cause cancer and killed my hamster."

"End the speciest profiling of the LDS Church. Dogs can be exalted too."

"Down with the Jehovah's Witnesses."

"Armageddon is nigh....buy war bonds."

"Yes, I'm serving Satan. What of it?"

"Everything is great. I think everyone here is cute."

"I think I'm at the wrong protest. I am actually trying to save the rainforests."

"I'm with stupids."

Ahhhh....good times will be had.

 My favorite..."I think I'm at the wrong protest. I am actually trying to save the rainforests."

When I would counter-protest people (much like Protest Warriors) I was mostly ignored, a few people yelled back. One day while I was holding a sign a lady in the group approached me and in the most sincere kindest voice said "I do not understand your sign", she was polite and everything nice I explained what I meant by my sign and we just small talked after that....strangely after that demonstration was over, I no longer showed up to counter protest.

I did think about bringing them cookies or hot chocolate, but I could not figure out a way to bring hot water without someone trying to accuse me of making people sick.

I've always recommend that non-LDS friends go to an open-house of a new LDS Temple if given the opportunity. It can resolve misconceptions that others may have.

For that reason, every few years or so, maybe every temple should shut down for a while and have an open house. They shut the temples down periodically for cleaning, anyway.
