Why Are We Asked To Pray For The Jews

Hello All!!!!

I couldn't wait another moment to share something I just came to understand only a few minutes ago. First, I had to wake Frank and tell him. Second, I called my daughter to tell her. Third, I called my Bishop and woke him up to tell him. Now, I am sharing it with all readers who see this.

It has been on my mind why we are asked to pray for others either when we don't know Father's will for them AND when we already know His will for them. Take for instance how we are to pray for the Jews, and we will receive a blessing, even though Christ promised that ALL the Jews were going to be saved! Why should we pray for something that is already a sure thing???

My beloved friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, the blessing is intertwined with the reason! What is the second great commandment? It is to love others as we love ourselves. Even though I already love the Jews, and always have, then WHY pray for them if they have been promised their salvation? IT IS TO HELP PREPARE AND TEACH US TO BECOME ONE!! How can we become ONE if we are NOT participating AS ONE - even when it is a sure thing?!! To become ONE encompasses ALL THINGS!

My joy overflows with this glad, glad tidings. It's been right there in front of me all this time. And tonight, for some reason, Father allowed the Holy Ghost to guide my mind to this very simple but ohhhh soooo important Truth.

Could you cite some Scripture to help me understand why you believe that we are specifically commanded to pray for the Jews, and that all Jews are going to be saved. Or, are you speaking just generally?

Here you go:

Romans 11:25-36 (emphasis added)

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

Praying for them is our way to show them mercy. And whenever we are asked to do something by Father, there is always a blessing attached. In the end times there may be additional ways which will manifest at which time we can offer them mercy. For now, however, I think the best we can do is pray for them, while supporting whatever movements our government may make in protecting them, and fighting against any movement our government may make which removes our protection from them. All these efforts, which are positive in showing them mercy, will help us in our journey to become "one". And this is only touching upon the Jews and becoming one with them!

Here, it is the people Paul is talking to who are to have mercy on the Jews:

Romans 5:31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

Here is an example of HOW we can show mercy to others by praying for them:

Neh: 1:11 O LORD, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

Here is an example of how we should pray for those whom the Lord has given a calling to (the Jews are Gods chosen people - so although Paul is talking to the Thessalonians, the principle should be the same for others, as well):

2 Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

Here we are asked to prayer for those who persecute us. In the ancient early church, the Jews specifically persecuted the Saints (Paul certainly comes to mind):

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

But the biggie which speaks specifically about Abram,later known as Abraham, and his lineage; i.e., the House of Israel is this:

Genesis 12:1-3 (emphasis added)

1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

I hope this helps. Also as shown above, our asking for Father to bless all those who persecute us; to pray for all those who have persecuted us; to ask God for mercy on others; to give mercy to others ourselves; etc....all of these things are a part of OUR beoming "one". These are things we can do right now, while we are in the flesh and on our personal journey. We don't have to wait to be resurrected to become "one". These teachings have been given to us to use during our walk in faith. If we are not paying attention to these teachings, and doing these things, then we have not yet begun to become "one".

I think the Lord's Prayer is also a good example of instruction; and I have offered the inspirational understanding I received of WHY we have been given so many passages which include praying for others and having mercy on others; loving others. Inasmuch as the Jews have been blinded to Christ's identity, and this has opened the way for the Gentiles, is Paul's teaching in Romans 11 not a way for us to show mercy upon the Jews? Is mercy not forgiveness? Thus, is praying for others to be forgiven of their trespasses a way for us to show mercy on others? We have been given an actual prescription for the path to becoming "one". We cannot become "one" with Christ or with the Father if we are not "one" with each other if for no other logical reason than as others are becoming "one" with Christ and with our Father, it is not only Christ and Father that we then become "one" with.

It occurs to me that anti-semites through-out mankind's history are in big trouble. Martin Luther was a huge anti-semite (and I was raised Lutheran and didn't even know about his anti-semetic views; which, btw, became a big influence in Germany. This is something which influenced Hitler himself). And what about those who believe in Replacement Theology who, thereby, take away the blessings of the Jews promised to them by God, and take them for themselves? There are many orthodox Christians who have done this. I don't think this is a wise idea on their part. Certainly this is not the path to take if we truly desire to become "one".

Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

It seems that those who believe in Replacement Theology are trying to steal the promises God made to His Chosen People.

Fortunately, he had just gotten to bed only a short time before I called. If it had been later, I would have waited with great reluctance until the morning. He has become a good friend and understood why I called. In fact, part of the revelation I received came with a very strong desire and impression to call him specifically. When I receive these types of inspirations, I don't question them; I just do it.

And hopefully, we are aware of and remember that we should be praying for our enemies, for those who use us, steal from us, harm our children, harm our liberty, persecute us for our religious beliefs, mock our God, or in any way trespass against us. Likewise, we should strive to remember to pray for those who do right by us, who are serving God, who have been given promises by God (like the Jews), in addition to praying for our personal friends and family. If we are to love others, including our enemies, as ourselves, then in addition to specific inspirations, we should be remembering to pray for all others as well. In this way we can truly become "one" with them.

This personal revelation was exactly what I needed last night! I rejoice in our Savior and in the knowledge that when Father feels we are ready, He will direct the Holy Ghost to open our minds. Thus we are guided, line upon line; precept upon precept. They were not my thoughts; rather, something that was revealed to me from the Most High God!
