Calling Our Leaders To Repentance

[Putting on tinfoil hat]

So the LDS leadership is in colluson with conservative leaders of the USA?

[Taking off tinfoil hat]

Hooray! :yahoo:

Problem. What about Harry Reid who, despite being in direct theological opposition to the LDS Church in most public matters, also spoke recently at BYU? In addition, the whirlwind spoken of in D&C 112:24 brought much more damage and destruction than the actual tornado the video referred to did.

Also, I shake many hands. Many people bungle it a bit and that often results, in my own experience, in unintended clasps that have no significant meaning.

From another current thread "discerning spirits". It brought up this question: Do we have the right to call our leaders to repentance?

Notice (discern) the feeling (spirt) you receive from watching this "catchy" video. Where do those type of feelings stem from? And from that feeling, does it speak of truth? Half truths? Or what? Thoughts?

The video seems a poor attempt to assign evil motives and plans to those who are more likely just well intentioned men who are just carrying on the traditions of their fathers, many of which are quite good.

Being very familiar with what I would term the "European handshake", which I will characterize as close to shaking hands with a fish, I believe most of the handshake photos in the video are fine examples of that and nothing more should be read into them. The Bush/Cheney - Monson/Hinkley shakes are most likely fluks that occur in handshaking all the time. No big deal here in my opinion.

On a more sarcastic note (sorry I know it doesn't help, I'll try to do better) I think members of the church should always follow the leadership.......no matter what they say.......no matter what they do. Be quiet.....listen......and obey......

Do not attempt to critique (which is different than criticize), look for inconsistencies, or point out things that seem confusing. JUST DON'T.....

Talk about making mountains out of molehills. The handshake is also seen in the movie "Conspiracy Theory." I doubt the church had anything to do with that.

Seriously, this looks like something my apostate nephew would put together. He preaches this to everyone and is starting to get a following. They point out the whirlwind in SLC but fail to mention it bypassed the temple and took out a bunch of not so uplifting places. Have they forgotten Joseph Smith likewise met with the President of the United States and if that President had any principles the church would have worked with the president to alleviate their suffering.

These people are generally conspiracy theorists (basically everything that happens is a conspiracy of the One World Order). They actually are looking forward to having to run to the mountains to hide. My nephew, who btw can't shoot a gun and is afraid of insects, thinks he can go to the mountains and survive.

What they fail to see is they are the ones the earlier prophets warned about. This is why the leaders have been working so hard to get back to gospel basics because these folks are so hung up on the apocalyptic revelations of the past and what past leaders have said that they have failed to hear what current leaders are saying.

Why do you ruin a very reasoned comment with stuff like this? It just shows your ignorance of what it means to follow the prophet. We are expected to use our minds, study things out and pray to get confirmation. We are also expected to understand that some things said may not apply to our circumstances but to use wisdom in understanding what is right.

Interesting nephew, but my thoughts exactly. Whoever made this video is coming from that road to apostasy.

That is my bad.

It stemmed from another thread. He took offense to my general pseudo-Mormon comment and then ended up calling our leaders psuedo-Prophets. I thought my apology would be sufficient in squelching this, but apparently not.

Be careful, Deborah. The mods have stated that calling someone ignorant constitutes a ban-able personal attack.
