Again to sue in civil court you need to have monetary damages. What are your monetary damages?I understand what you are saying, but assault is easily taken to court with. Ive done it before.

I talked the cable guy at our complex, a person had ordered really fast interwebs, but it turns out the cable was so old (building is over 30years old) that on existing cable it was not possible. and don't get me started on qwest, and if qwest is any indication how a Idaho business runs itself, then I say you need to move to a different state. I took a screen shot when I ordered internet and phone from qwest. Qwest was over charging me, I called and asked what was going on, got the run around, then I finally said "I have a screen shot of the promotional offer", boy howdy did everyone at qwest become my best friend in a matter of seconds.It is the cable - No doubt. They know that and so do I. But the larger issue is here a moral obligation to get their attention on the matter. Still thinking it over about the lawsuit. The GM has called me and I have called him, but we keep missing each other. So, I am happy that he wants to settle this. Apparently the pressure is coming from the BBB and the Franchise office. I got a call back from the Franchise office and they said they were looking into it. They are the ones that grant Cable One rights of way to lay thier cable that feeds neighborhoods. The people that run it are appointed by politicians.

He was speaking only for himself, of course, but he opined that the only times when it would be appropriate for someone to sue is when (a) you are fiduciary for someone else and thus owe the duty to maximize their recovery; (b) the issue is bigger than personal injury (like civil rights), and there was one more. He suggested that the Lord's people should not be joining the "let's sue them" bunch. On a more personal note, suing is likely to prolong the slight you feel as you will replay the distress you are now feeling many days as you work through the process. And in your case, for what? Change providers? Look up the official person legal name and call their secretary and ask what you need to do. Go without internet for a month so you don't become combative when you don't have it for an afternoon? Buy a mifi2200 card or link via a smartphone?Litigation rarely results in what the person who brought it wants out of it..All good thoughts. And this is what I am looking for. Thank you.
Messenger Posted June 3, 2011 Author Posted June 3, 2011 (edited) One of the things I like about this forum is that I can ask you all for your person opinions, and for the most part most everyone did that. Basically I want to feel right about what I am asking for, that it will help the situation in teaching the tech a few things, as well as Cable One a few things. I'm not sure that's been done at this point. If I saw a glimmer of that, which I probably wont because they wouldn't want to admit anything, then that tells me they have business smarts, but no intuition about where I might take this, and why. Its got to be painful enough so that change happens, but not obscene. So far, they are ignoring anything that might have them take a second look at the situation and how other people might feel about it. Trust is key. When you invite someone in your home do we want to trust them that they wont start throwing things at us? I have come to a conclusion about what I want from Cable One. If they agree, it will be just painful enough that perhaps they will be sensitive to the general publics need for a certain degree of professionalism when invited in the home of a customer. After all, we are paying for their job. If we can't agree, when the lawyers get it, which I know from direct experience, they will say they they can choose between two amounts - pay this $??,??? now, or this $???,??? later. From the Church web site you also have this;I am not saying you should sue or not, but to me it seems after reading your post that in reality they are a terrible business and incompetent employees, yet I do not feel it was so sever you need to sue.Im ok with sueing in certain circumstances.
