Pepcigirl Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Just want to say that I have changed my User Name from Casslan.Recently lost one of our Greyhounds, Pepci to cancer. She had initially recovered having had part of her lower jaw removed. But the cancer came back in her neck and legs, and nothing could be done for her.Attachment below shows her after her op. selek Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 My condolences on your loss.Putting down a pet is never easy.I hope that she didn't suffer.
Garden Girl Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 In December 2009, I had to put down my handsome, smart Charlie-cat that I've talked about on this board. Nearly broke my heart. But in March 2010, I went down to the shelter and picked out a beautiful white/black older cat and named him "Bob." He was terrified of me for the first two weeks, but slowly came out from under the furniture, etc. Now he is so bonded to me, and is a wonderful companion... sharing my little cottage by the sea. I know the pain of losing a loved pet and hope you are healing. You couldn't let Pepci continue and, like me with Charlie, you had no choice. Perhaps soon you will be able to rescue a pet from the shelter and give it a wonderful life. I look at my Bob now and tell him how happy I am that I found him... I think of how confused and fearful he was in the shelter and how he absolutely loves...and rules... his home today. from the beach... GG

Pepcigirl Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) My condolences on your loss.Putting down a pet is never easy.I hope that she didn't suffer.Unfortunately, she was in pain this time. Strangely, she didn't have any pain with her jaw. She ran about and played as normal. If anything it was just an inconvenience for eating. Edited January 13, 2011 by Pepcigirl
