I'm presenting on The Mormon Endowment and the "Christianization of Freemasonry".

Do you know what day you'll be presenting? I could probably swing a day trip on Saturday up that way.

Hi Steuss. The conference will be held May 26-29, but the presentation schedule hasn't been given yet. I'll post a link to the program on this forum when it is available.

I didn't get a proposal together in time, was holding out for something else. Prob won't have enough time off work given a few other things I have planned. Sounds like a good time, though!

Groovy.

At the very least, I wouldn't mind swinging up there to buy you lunch and give you a high-five.

So who else is going/presenting?

I've covered the conference the past several years (save one) for the Church News. We have a tight budget these days, but I'm hoping to get the assignment again, especially since it's within driving distance this year. I missed seeing you in Independence last year, Mike; maybe we can connect this time.

Steuss and Scott. I'd love to see you both. The scholarship presented at these conferences always makes the trip worth it. But my favorite thing is the opportunity to socialize with so many bright friendly people. Hope to see you both there.

The new airport is operational.

I don't know if I can attend every day, but I am sure I could attend at least one.

Is there a schedule yet?

:P No schedule yet. When it is up, I'll post a link.

The Mormon Endowment and the "Christianization of Freemasonry".

Is that to imply that the Endowment really did come from Freemasonry?

That's a beautiful area, btw. My husband and I almost moved to Kanab a few years ago.

I will argue in my presentation that Joseph's placement of masonic ritual in the narrative context of Adam's fall and redemption actually followed a "[re]christianization" movement happening in American freemasonry at the time.

This will be the first time I've visited the area. I am looking forward to it.

Ah...well, that sounds interesting. Are you going to publish your talk somewhere online?

I think you'll enjoy it. :P The St. George Temple is just beautiful.

It will most likely appear in a Mormon studies journal.
