Scott26.2 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 They crawl because they are now classed as a subhuman species incapable of walking erect.C'mon Consig, you really don't believe that.Scott26.2
structurecop Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 C'mon Consig, you really don't believe that.Scott26.2What's this 26.2 stuff?
mercyngrace Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I thought they crawled backwards through the spanking machine after renouncing their covenants and turning in their quads and church manuals. I especially love the part where the rest of us chant "The shunning... the shunning... the shunning..."Or is that only in my ward? [/sarc off]
ttribe Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 What's this 26.2 stuff?My guess? He runs marathons.
structurecop Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 My guess? He runs marathons.Ooh, good one! It all makes sense now...
ttribe Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Ooh, good one! It all makes sense now...That's why you see those "26.2" (for marathons) and "13.1" (for 1/2 marathons) on the backs of peoples' cars.
structurecop Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 That's why you see those "26.2" (for marathons) and "13.1" (for 1/2 marathons) on the backs of peoples' cars. Were you reading my mind?
ttribe Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Were you reading my mind?Yes...that's how I win all our arguments.
structurecop Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Yes...that's how I win all our arguments. Curses... back to the tin foil hat...
JarMan Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 I think humans are the only mammals that "crawl" (when they are babies, of course). Maybe someone can think of another example, but when I describe a horse or dog or lion or elephant or whatever moving, I say that it is "walking" or "running." Insects, on the other hand, do crawl. So do spiders. Perhaps Elder Holland was calling apostates arachnids or maybe ex-Mormon crickets?
consiglieri Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 C'mon Consig, you really don't believe that.Scott26.2No, I don't believe that.I was just giving another possible interpretation like Mortal Man was giving. And I don't believe that is what Elder Holland was thinking. But I do think it left itself open to such an interpretation. All the Best!--Consiglieri
