JAHS Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Nope, I've never seen or witnessed a miracle or anything scientifically impossible. In fact, I have no good reason or evidence (spiritually or temporally) to believe anything about the church, even though I've lived all my life as a member and have done everything I was supposed to do.Being a scientist I have always considered God to be the ultimate head scientist, so to me even if something is scientifically explainable, I can still call it a miracle performed by God.
Black Moclips Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Maybe that's your problem. You should've messed up a little like the rest of us. LOL. Well I didn't mean that I never made mistakes or screwed up, cause I have. What I meant was that I followed the standard mormon plan for young men = Aaronic Priesthood, Melch. Priesthood, Patriarchial Blessing, Mission, college, temple marriage, kids, callings etc. I've always thought the testimony would come at some point, as I've read and prayed about it throughout the above process. Maybe I'm being punished for all the times I bore my testimony when I didn't really have one. So in this case, President Paker is wrong. You don't find a testimony by bearing one. So I've given up. God, if there is one, knows exactly what I want to know and exactly where I am should he choose to contact me and tell me all about it. No point in asking anymore.

I don't share in your experience, but I think I can understand it, and I'd feel the same way.I wish I had answers for you, but I don't, and everything else I've thought to write I'm quite sure would sound trite or patronising despite that not being my intention. All my best!
