Are multi stake conferences a thing of the past now?

In the 1970’s the church started hosting area Conferences in various places of the world.  Replaced by Regional Conferences that took the place of Stake Conferences when held.  Then Satellite conferences took the place of that Stake Conferences that year.  Then the satellite conference was an additional conference and stakes had two conferences a year.

 

Been a few years since I been to one.  Stakes just have there two conferences a year.   With Area Seventies having the same authority in there area as  General Authorities,  General Authorities presided but since you can call as many Area Seventies as needed they can cover stake conferences,

 

An apostle going to stake conferences is rare, not practical.  They may go to regional training and attend a stake conference in that area.  We just had that happen.  But that’s a once in a few decades thing now.  Just wonder if regional or area conferences are now a thing of the past.

When I was in Utah, we had two apostles attend our state conferences over the course of about 11 years. I think the ratio is pretty close to the same for the Stake we are currently living in in Wyoming. That probably changes the further away you get from Salt Lake City.

We had Pres. Nelson and Elder Anderson and wives come in 2018, Elder Gong dedicated the temple here in 2021 and then Elder Stevenson came and did a stake conference in 2025 but did a combined Stake Conference leadership plus 2 stakes from the next province over for the leadership mtg. Prior to 2018 it was 2005 for Eyring coming here
