  1. The consequences of Prop 8 were immaterial, because the principle needed to be stood for. Now that the matter is settled constitutional law, the matter is closed. For the moment, anyway. If SCOTUS reversed itself it wouldn't be the first time.
  2. Apparently, you didn't watch the video. Sorry I can't summarize the video for you right at the moment.
  3. I thought this was a really excellent defense of "Mormonism" in the sense of debunking the occasional rather ridiculous claim that Islam is closer to Christianity than "Mormonism" is.
  4. As someone or other once said, if you can't explain it in layman's terms, you don't understand it. And there I am, as well.
  5. The article says: "...the researchers apply the principles of thermodynamics, particularly the concept of entropy, to explain why matter attracts other matter." There's already been talk of gravity as a entropic phenomenon. See PBS Spacetime video: What If Gravity is NOT A Fundamental Force? | Entropic Gravity I really like the idea of gravity being a phenomenon of entropy. It allows us to stop looking for dark matter and energy -- which may not exist at all!
  6. Haven't yet checked out the article, but I was pretty sure it had already been long sorted out that gravity was not a force... but a function of space-time.
  7. Of course. And the question concerning which is the fantasy may have a different answer than you think. Or, to be fully fair, than either of us think. But I have come to learn that when Paul speaks of a "more sure word of prophecy" he was referring to something accessible to everyone of faith, and that that faith is truly "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Heb 11:1) Except that Joseph Smith renders "substance" as "assurance" in the JST. And I have come to that point of assurance. Fair enough.
  8. Well said! Imagine that, I agree with you!
  9. Just for grins... Numbers 11:29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the Lord’s people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them!
  10. Yes it is. And perhaps some of those different paths lead to different kinds of disasters in the end? Time will tell, I suppose. Why waste one's time on something one will just end up disparaging?
  11. To you, as a non-LDS Christian, who are the foolish virgins? They were invited to the wedding feast, and obviously showed up, so they must have some sort of belief or commitment, even if it clearly wasn't enough. So, according to you, who are they? Are they going to heaven or hell?
