  1. By intelligences, I mean "beings" before these "beings" became spirit children. What caused evil influences for them?
  2. I don't really know. But if God created sin so he could provide an Atonement, then he would be the author of sin. It's almost like the chicken and egg paradox. Does the chicken (the Atonement) lay the egg (the Fall), or does the egg (the Fall) lead to a chick (the Atonement). For your "but human parents" section, I might add "4. pass on a fallen human nature to their children".
  3. I'd say pride and lust; the latter being like Eve's desire to become like God when following the devil's temptation.
  4. What I meant was what evil did intelligences choose or act upon?
  5. I think you said these intelligences had agency. How did they act regarding good and evil before becoming spirit children?
  6. I don't see God forced him (programed him) to rebel.
  7. Parents know their children will suffer, maybe even die from severe pain or be killed, and yet they give birth to them. That does not mean the parents are to blame.
  8. "I think therefore I am". But what evil could these intelligences act upon?
  9. Free will for his creations.
  10. So intelligences, before becoming spirit children, already had agency to choose between good and evil?
  11. I think God did not create evil. Satan became evil in his rebellion.
  12. Could be both. Evil (a thing) is as evil (a being) does.
  13. Do spirits have a tabernacle in a premortal life? Did intelligences have agency before they were formed into spirit children?
  14. Does evil exist long before the devil is born?
  15. How were premortal spirits of heavenly parents considered divine as God is divine? Are you using these to prove that only sons of God become Gods? The context of Matthew 5:48 is not becoming Gods. Start from the beginning of the chapter. Are all the 24 elders on their thrones Gods too (Revelation 4:4)? You mentioned "not putting". Don't you mean "putting us equal to God"? Based on what the scriptures say, I don't believe Gods can be formed.
  16. Can you provide the link again.
  17. Was that their only exercise of agency?
  18. What about their spirit bodies? Weren't they the workmanship of their immortal parents?
  19. What other evil existed in that premortal life?
  20. What about the spirits born to heavenly parents in the premortal life? What good and evil could they comprehend there?
  21. About this verse in Moses 7. "The Lord said unto Enoch: Behold these thy brethren; they are the workmanship of mine own hands, and I gave unto them their knowledge, in the day I created them; and in the Garden of Eden, gave I unto man his agency". What knowledge is given to Enoch's brethren and when were they created? Did spirits in a pre-mortal life have agency too?
  22. Just reason it out. Where did his wife come from?
  23. Joseph Smith taught that. He had the same parents as his wife did.
  24. That's what Joseph Smith taught.
