He had *just* moved back and got a call from the elders. He was so grateful and glad to hear from them. Now they are teaching him and he’s on track for baptism. They never would have contacted him if they didn’t have the extra time at home. Another lady they’ve been teaching for a while hadn’t been progressing. They had a short lesson with her and asked her to read a certain conference talk. She called them the next morning to say how that talk touched her, and she wants to get baptized. I could go on 😄 They are seeing miracle after miracle and know they are still being led to people who need the gospel. Right now my son is mostly doing discussions with members and inactive members so it sounds like some above. He does have 1 person/family that they are teaching that are not active. From what I am getting the countries that have been in quarantine longer are the ones more likely to be teaching actual lessons right now. With the quote in red: I totally see this happening. I was able to teach a friend through instant messenger for awhile before and after she started seeing the missionaries. There were some very personal and private things we discussed that I don't think she could ever have discussed in person, but that she needed to be able to talk through. I am one who really likes to be around people I talk with because I start to get a "feel" for who they are very clearly. You can get a lot by talking online, but before this I previously thought that I would need to be in person with them to really see their heart. There were a couple of talks I had with my friend on online where the Spirit was so strongly present - no less present than it was when I was on my mission teaching. I was amazed that through the Spirit the distance, the lack of "seeing" etc could give me the experience that I had in person. It was beautiful. She later joined the church and went through the temple and is more active than many of the other people I taught as a missionary. 3
