I wouldn't expect anything less from a website facilitating the transfer of thousands of firearms a year with no background checks whatsoever. Save your disdain. There is nothing misleading at all about the banner advertisement for Sportsman's Warehouse - it's clearly an ad for a 3rd party site. And there is nothing nefarious about a licensed retailer who buys/sells X to be purchasing advertising on a website designed to attract people who are interested in buying/selling X - especially when said retailer has a physical presence in pretty much every major city in the area targeted by the website. The hope, clearly, is that people will see their (SW's) banner ad and decide to sell their privately owned firearms to them instead of waiting for someone local to respond to a classified ad. And as a licensed dealer, every firearm sold by Sportsman's Warehouse will then involve a federal background check. Maybe I'm missing something here, but isn't that the result you want?

The placement and repetition of the ad on subsequent pages make it seem like the website and the SW business are connected. I agree there is nothing nefarious about. It was confusing to me. Perhaps I should have said confusing rather than misleading.
