I believe what my mother taught me: offense is *always* taken, and never given. If folks don't like the poster, they don't have to look at it. I have never agreed with this idea. I do think offense is always taken, but there are times when it is given as well. The problem is when people assume it is given when it has not been, especially when miscommunication has occurred.
