bsjkki Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 (edited) I found this study interesting. http://www.gallup.com/opinion/gallup/211070/regret-college-choices.aspx?utm_source=alert&utm_medium=email&utm_content=morelink&utm_campaign=syndication Regardless of the degree type, people who majored in certain fields -- such as STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) -- are less likely to have second thoughts than others. Regret varies by degree type. Bachelor's degree holders are more likely to regret their chosen field of study than technical/vocational, associate and postgraduate degree holders. People who completed their degree at a later age (those who were aged 30 or older at the time of graduation) are more satisfied with their decisions. Those who attended for-profit, certificate-granting institutions (62%); private, nonprofit, two-year schools (63%); and for-profit, two-year schools (66%) are most likely to say they would change at least one of their education decisions. My regret is not picking the right major. Edited June 2, 2017 by bsjkki Wrong link added content 1
Storm Rider Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 I was one of those rather confused individuals who could never quite settle on a major. The result was a couple degrees and scads and scads of hours in divers topics. I admired those people who always seemed so assured what their chosen field was supposed to be.
