I'd like to say that isn't fair because I think I probably am willing to listen to you and see what you mean more than most people on here. That's why I am trying so hard to say, "Johnnie, look at how you are saying this." I want other people to be willing to listen.

Obviously, I need to do a better job at that or you would know better. Hopefully that is understood with this post. If not then I don't know how else to go about it so it would probrably be best if I stopped trying.

Well I appreciate this an I'm listening...  I recognize that tone matters on this board and I do understand what you're saying. Perhaps I could have chosen my words better

Since people who have been on the board awhile rarely write as if they are writing to total strangers, providing all the background needed to understand assumptions, gaps, etc., then it makes sense to take into account who the writer and the history of their posts.

On occasion for example, a short question about doctrine or belief is answered as if the questioner is Mormon when he is actually not Mormon.  Pointing this out results in a very different response because the expectations are different.  And rightly so.

That's fair but I think we also need to be careful with our assumptions lest we lock someone into a bias that may not be real.
