The only problem with that article is that it says it started with Husserl, in fact it started with Kant in the 18th century

Now I get to revisit the conditions of the marriage covenant and see if a fall to mortality might change the nature of that covenant.

There tends to be a pattern throughout scripture and Church history wherein the commencement of either a New Dispensation or grand Reformation necessitates the renewal of ordinances. This is partially speculation on my part, but I don't believe it's because of the invalidity of previous ordinances, or the lack of binding power of previous covenants. Perhaps it's to set forth an example, which is one purpose of ordinances, or perhaps the commencement of a dispensation simply requires a reorganization of the priesthood.

I previously stated this, but here are some examples:

- Alma baptizing himself in the Waters of Mormon. While it's certainly possible that Alma held the priesthood without being baptized, I swing back and forth on whether or not this case reaches the extreme circumstances of a Restoration such as what occurred with Oliver Cowdery and Joseph Smith. In which case Alma was rebaptizing himself most likely as a symbol of his repentant state.

- The Nephite reorganization of the Church under Christ. We know that Nephi as the head of the 12 Nephite apostles was baptizing previously, and most likely not unauthoritatively. Nevertheless, Christ reordains them and commands them to preform these again.

- Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. Baptized each other upon receiving the Aaronic Priesthood, for the remission of sins, taking upon themselves the name of Christ, and entering into the baptismal covenant. Rebaptized on April 6, 1830 upon organization of the Church, this time for Church membership (you can't be baptized for Church membership without an organized Church).

- The Mormon Reformation in Utah, wherein Brigham cemented the Saints' settlement there with a multitude of rebaptisms.

Okay, I've had two thoughts regarding the possible reasoning behind a "resealing" of Adam and Eve, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnndddddd I just PM'd you those. It didn't feel totally right to post it here.
