heart of the matter...debates.

I have seen several videos from Heart of the matter. I find most of Shawns arguments beyond stupid, but I was wondering, has anyone seen him get owned on the air? Or have access to a recording. I would love to see that. Lol.

There was a poster on here named Walker who talked to Shawn about the divine council once. If you do a board search on Shawn McCraney you may be able to find it. Also look up promormon.blogspot.com who was banned by Shawn from calling. From what I understand his show was taken off the air, not sure why. I think he has been mostly forgotten.

The show was lame. The Mormon callers were clearly screened to make sure they were not very knowledgeable. Anyone who started doing well would be shouted over and kicked off the line.

It eventually ended because one weekend he'd gone to a new Protestant congregation while travelling (Baptists or something).

His first show back he decided to do a show calling out the Baptists instead for their hypocrisy. Within a week the show was cancelled.

It's worth remembering his stage persona was an act. The whole show was a circus.

Watch his Mormon stories interview if you want to meet the man behind the motor mouth.

The only recording of "The Heart of the Matter" worth listening to is Don Henley's, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io-1nENaV18 .  And that's the Gospel truth.

I have not followed Shawn McCraney much.  I found his approach to Mormonism to be both smug, superficial and unserious.  Here's an interesting summary of what has been happening over the past few years, if you are interested (I skimmed through it, as it's very long, and I'm not particularly interested): https://beggarsbread.org/2014/02/24/the-trials-of-shawn-mccraney-part-one/

Thanks,

Wow thanks for that....I didn't realize what a tangled web it had turned into

I think it's interesting to see Protestants reference "the church" or "the body of Christ" (as in "{Jason Wallace} also addresses the division that Mr. McCraney is creating in the church through his teachings..."), as if the disparate manifestations of Protestant Christianity constitute a unified "church" or "body of Christ."  Protestantism is, by its very nature, schismatic and fractured.

Thanks,

Very true, it's ironic that they are the quickest to condemn and attack others, when they are the least cohesive in ways.
